Bratislava, 12th June 2010 – Nearly 25 000 people came to visit the Bratislava plant of Volkswagen Slovakia at the Open Day on Saturday. A number of interesting attractions for children and parents awaited the visitors in addition to beautiful weather.

The Bratislava plant lives not only with cars but also with football. Both children and their parents experienced the atmosphere of the World Cup and Africa at the Open Day, being able to observe lions, tigers and monkeys in Alex circus and go on a safari ride in Touareg on the local off-road track. The African groups – Mbunnda Africa and Percofónia Duo feat. Mamdou and friends from Senegal – performed directly in the company area. They brought with them from the Democratic Republic of Congo the traditional clothes and customs of the local Pende tribe. Many visitors also tasted various tea and coffee flavours in a relaxed atmosphere of a genuine Bedouin tent.

Polemic, Misha, Maduar and Jan Bendig played and sang on the main stage. The entire program was presented by popular presenters Adela and Sajfa. The group drumming was a big success but people also showed a lot of interest in the autographs by our Olympic winners Anastasia Kuzmina and Pavol Hurajt. Visitors could relax in the atmosphere of movies by Pavol Barabáš.

As with all Open Day events, included were the excursions to production premises, driving cars made in Bratislava on the off-road and test track and the opportunity for children to paint the bodies of Touareg, Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne just as they seemed nicest. All visitors were given chance to compete and win some of the attractive prices in a raffle. We congratulate the winners and thank all who participated!
